New Music Premieres Concert

After a great summer of touring and a composing residency in Colorado it was time for a new music premieres concert. I get asked all of the time, “Since you wrote the piece then can’t you already play it?”. The answer to this question is, not really. Just because I came up with the composition does not mean that I can play it. This is where the hard work comes in.

After returning form Colorado in early August it took us 2 months of practice to put together many of our new pieces. Our first performance was at Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday October 9. I have been waking up at 7:30 to do my guitar warm-ups. Carmen and I have been practicing together at nights after a long day of teaching to get ready for this. Many thanks to Larry Biser for setting up the concert and to all who showed up to the concert. Here is a video of my new piece Living Now from the concert!
